I am a parent of three competitive swimmers, two of whom are currently swimming with Raptors. Our children learned to swim in the UAE where it is too hot to do much else in the hot months.

We moved to New Zealand in 2017 and the kids began competitive swimming at Icebreaker Aquatics. When we moved to Kapiti in 2019 they transferred to Raptors and we’ve been here ever since.  The kids have made great friends and developed a lot as swimmers in their time at the club.

I have been a committee member since 2022 and spend my days working as a fisheries scientist for MPI.
