Flyer: Raumati Swimming Club Champs 2023
Please note that the Kick and Relay events cannot be entered online. Entries for these will be done on the night. They are just for fun with no points awarded for these.
The champs are open to all Raumati Swimming Club squad members who are Financial SNZ registered Competitive, Club, Learn to Swim or Recreational swimmers. Age group medals and cups based on points from these races will be awarded at club prize giving a bit later in the year.
Swimmers 9 & under can enter all or any of 25m Free, 25m Back, 25m Breast, 25m Fly with points from these events determining age group winners. The 100m IM can also be entered by swimmers 9 & under but please note that there are no points to be earned from this event.
Swimmers 10 & over can enter all or any of 50m Free, 50m Back, 50m Breast, 50m Fly, 100m IM. Swimmers 10 & over who are not confident at swimming 50 m of a stroke can enter 25m of that stroke instead with these 25m events being awarded half points. Swimmers may only enter one event of each stroke e.g., you cannot enter 25m Free and 50m Free.
Swimmers are encouraged to enter all events for which they are eligible.
If you have a less experienced swimmer and are unsure what is suitable for them please do speak to our coaches. If your swimmer is not ready to swim in the main pool yet, please still consider popping along for a bit to watch. It’s a great opportunity to see what goes on and hopefully it won’t be too long before they are ready to take part.
Our Officials Coordinator Dean will be looking for people to help on the night. Swim meets require a lot of volunteers to make them run. No task is too difficult and it’s a great way to see the action and meet other parents.

2023 The Trygve Cup
The Trygve Cup is a multi-week cup designed to positively enhance the experience of competitive swimming, develop interclub rivalries and further increase participation at home pools across the region. The Trophy is named after the late Trygve Mark Berge and will be open to all clubs to participate and compete in to be named winners of the cup.
The Cup was launched in March/April 2022, and is a multi-week event. Each series is adapted and changed to vary the events competed for over the course of the series. The cup will primarily promote participation in relay events, whilst also providing the opportunity for swimmers to compete in a weekly individual event.
